HYW E309L-16 Stainless Steel Stick Electrode — All Position

Precio habitual $11.88 Oferta

HYW E309L-16 is an all-position stainless steel stick electrode (SMAW) designed for joining dissimilar metals and for overlay work. It welds stainless steel to carbon or mild steel, joins 309/309S base metals, and produces sound buffer layers and cladding. The extra-low carbon deposit guards against intergranular corrosion.

Key Features

  • › AWS A5.4 classification E309L-16
  • › Extra-low carbon (≤0.04%) for resistance to intergranular corrosion
  • › Ideal for dissimilar-metal joints (stainless to carbon/mild steel)
  • › Rutile coating — smooth arc, easy slag removal, clean bead
  • › All-position welding on AC or DC electrode positive (DCEP / DC+)

Ideal Applications

  • › Joining stainless steel to carbon or mild steel
  • › Surfacing, cladding, and buffer / buttering layers
  • › Welding 309 / 309S stainless and heat-resistant fabrications

Mechanical Properties

Typical as-welded all-weld-metal properties; values meet or exceed AWS A5.4 minimums.

Tensile Strength 80,000 psi (550 MPa) min — typ. 88,000 psi (605 MPa)
Yield Strength (0.2% offset) typ. 62,000 psi (425 MPa)
Elongation (2 in / 50 mm) 30% min — typ. 35%
Ferrite Number (FN) 8 – 15 typical

Available Sizes & Amperage

Diameter Typical Amperage
3/32" (2.4 mm) 40–80 A
1/8" (3.2 mm) 70–110 A
5/32" (4.0 mm) 90–140 A

Store electrodes in a dry location and reseal packaging after use to preserve coating integrity. Amperage values are typical guidance — always follow your WPS and mill certification.
