Mild Steel Mig Mag Welding Wire ER80S-D2
ER80S-D2 low-alloy MIG wire is a high-strength, copper-coated solid wire (AWS A5.28) alloyed with about 0.5% molybdenum. It deposits 80,000 psi weld metal with excellent toughness plus creep and elevated-temperature resistance — the wire for high-strength low-alloy steel, boilers, and pressure vessels. Runs on 100% CO² or an Ar/CO² blend, DC+.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is ER80S-D2 used for?
High-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel and code-governed work — boilers, pressure vessels, and components that see elevated temperatures — where its molybdenum content provides extra strength and creep resistance.
How is ER80S-D2 different from ER70S-6?
ER80S-D2 deposits 80 ksi weld metal versus 70 ksi for ER70S-6, and its molybdenum addition adds heat and creep resistance. Use ER70S-6 for everyday mild steel, ER80S-D2 when the job calls for higher strength.
