HYW E7024 Stick Electrodes are a high-deposition, iron-powder “drag” rod built for fast, high-production welding in the flat and horizontal-fillet positions, supplied in a convenient 10 lb box. The heavy iron-powder coating lets the electrode be dragged along the joint for smooth, high-speed beads with deep, uniform fill and easy self-peeling slag — ideal for heavy plate and repetitive fillet work.

Key Features

  • Heavy iron-powder coating for very high deposition rates
  • Smooth “drag” technique for fast, high-production welding
  • 70,000 psi tensile strength
  • Runs on AC or DC± with a soft, quiet arc
  • Excellent bead appearance with self-peeling slag

Ideal Applications

  • Heavy plate and structural fillet welds
  • High-production and repetitive fabrication
  • Flat-position groove and lap joints
  • Shipbuilding, machinery, and steel fabrication

Available Sizes & Recommended Amperage

Diameter × Length Recommended Amperage
3/32" × 14" 100 – 145 A
1/8" × 14" 140 – 200 A
5/32" × 14" 180 – 250 A

Recommended amperage ranges are general guidelines; optimal settings vary with base-metal thickness, joint design, and welding position. Store electrodes in a dry location to preserve performance.
