Munhwa PM Oil-Based Paint Marker, Medium 4.5mm — 12 Count Box

Precio habitual $14.40 Oferta

Munhwa PM Oil-Based Paint Marker (Medium 4.5 mm) is a heavy-duty industrial paint marker for marks that have to survive weather, wash-down, abrasion and time. Made in Korea by Munhwa (Kangnam KPI Co., Ltd.), a dedicated marker manufacturer since 1949, the PM lays down a thick, opaque, oil-based paint film that grips metal, plastic, glass, rubber, stone and wood — including surfaces a water- or alcohol-based marker will not hold.

Sold as a 12-count box (1 dozen) in twelve colors, with a generous 10 ml ink charge per marker — two to three times what a typical 1/8" valve-action marker carries.

Key Features

  • Oil-based opaque ink — the most durable, longest-lasting mark in the Munhwa line. Built for outdoor yards, marine air and rough handling.
  • Writes on almost all surfaces — metal, stainless, galvanized, plastic, glass, rubber, tire tread, wood, stone, concrete, leather and fabric.
  • 4.5 mm medium bullet nib — the general-purpose industrial width for heat numbers, part IDs and layout lines.
  • 10 ml ink capacity — long life, fewer changeouts, lower cost per mark.
  • Valve-action pump tip — shake, press, mark. Even flow down to the last of the paint.
  • Twelve colors including metallic Silver and Gold for dark, oxidized or powder-coated substrates.
  • Fast drying, waterproof, fade resistant — handles rain, sun and solvent splash after cure.

Applications

  • Welding & steel fabrication — heat numbers, weld map callouts, cut and bend lines on plate, beam and structural steel
  • Tire & automotive — tire tread and sidewall marking, rubber, glass, body panel and chassis identification
  • Steel service centers — grade, heat, lot and customer marking on bar, tube, coil and sheet
  • Shipyards & offshore — spool and fit-up marks that survive salt air and weather exposure
  • Construction & precast concrete — rebar, forms, block, stone and masonry layout
  • Lumber, pipe & yard storage — outdoor inventory that sits for months
  • Foundry & heavy equipment — casting IDs, routing, QC and witness marks

Why Buy the Munhwa Line

  • Two to three times the ink. A 10 ml Munhwa PM outlasts a standard 3 ml valve-action marker several times over — the cheapest marker per box is rarely the cheapest per mark.
  • 76+ years of specialist manufacturing. Munhwa has built writing instruments in Korea since 1949 and focuses on markers, not general stationery.
  • Consistent valve action. Fast priming, steady flow, minimal flooding — important when one operator marks hundreds of parts per shift.
  • One supplier, whole plant. PM (oil), XFPM (xylene free), PMM (permanent), SM Steel Marker (washable) and WBM (dry erase) cover every marking job under one brand.

How to Use

  1. Shake well with the cap on to mix the pigment.
  2. Uncap and press the nib on a scrap surface until paint reaches the tip.
  3. Mark with light, even pressure; re-prime with a short press when flow slows.
  4. Re-cap immediately to keep the nib from drying.

Storage & Handling

  • Store horizontally in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Use with adequate ventilation — this is an oil/xylene-base formula. For indoor or confined-space work choose the xylene-free Munhwa XFPM instead.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Refer to the manufacturer SDS for full handling guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it mark on tires and rubber?
Yes. Oil-based paint markers are the standard choice for tire tread and sidewall marking, and the PM is widely used for exactly that.

How is this different from the XFPM?
Same 4.5 mm nib and 10 ml capacity. The PM is oil based for maximum adhesion and outdoor durability; the XFPM is alcohol based and xylene free for low odor and indoor use.

Does the mark come off?
No — it is permanent. If you need a removable mark, use the Munhwa SM Steel Marker or U-Mark WASHOFF.

Can I use it on hot steel?
Allow the surface to cool below roughly 130 °F before marking for best adhesion and legibility.
