Mild Steel Stick Electrodes - E6010

E6010 stick electrodes are the welder's choice for deep-penetration root passes and pipe work (AWS A5.1 / ASME SFA-5.1). A high-cellulose sodium coating produces a tight, fast-freezing, forceful arc on DC+ that digs through rust, scale, and dirty surfaces for strong, X-ray-quality welds in all positions, including vertical-down. Available in 3/32", 1/8", and 5/32", in 10 lb boxes and 50 lb sealed cans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does E6010 run on AC?
No. E6010 is a DC+ (DCEP) electrode and needs a DC power source. If you only have an AC machine, use E6011, which gives the same digging cellulosic arc on AC.

What is E6010 used for?
It's the classic pipe and pipeline root-pass rod — its deep penetration and fast-freezing puddle make it ideal for open roots, out-of-position welds, and field work on unprepared steel.
