Our Type 304 Stainless Steel Wire Rope Cable combines strength, corrosion resistance, and a bright, attractive finish. Made from premium 304-grade stainless, it resists rust and staining across most indoor and outdoor environments, making it a favorite for architectural cable railing as well as marine and general fabrication. It is offered in rigid 7x7 and flexible 7x19 constructions for railing and light rigging, plus heavy-duty 6x25 (IWRC) reels for larger-diameter, higher-strength work — in diameters from 1/16" to 3/4".
Key Features
- Premium Type 304 stainless steel for strong corrosion resistance and a bright, polished appearance
- Three constructions: 7x7 (rigid, low-stretch), 7x19 (highly flexible), and heavy-duty 6x25 (IWRC)
- Diameters from 1/16" to 3/4"
- Ideal for architectural cable railing and visible, decorative installations
- Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) on 6x25 for added strength and crush resistance
- Sold by the coil and reel in lengths from 25 ft to 5,000 ft
Construction Guide
-
7x7 – semi-rigid, low-stretch; the classic choice for cable railing infill and deck / stair systems.
-
7x19 – highly flexible; best where the cable runs over pulleys or must bend easily.
-
6x25 IWRC – heavy-duty stainless construction for larger diameters, rigging, and higher-strength applications.
Ideal Applications
- Cable railing for decks, stairs, balconies, and interior partitions
- Architectural, display, signage, and decorative cable
- Trellises, garden, landscaping, and vineyard cable
- Marine rigging, deck hardware, lifelines, and boat fittings (excellent salt-air resistance)
- Balustrades, green-wall and living-wall support systems
- Rigging, hoisting, and general fabrication where corrosion resistance is required (6x25)
- Food-service, sanitary, and washdown environments where rust must be minimized

Store cable in a clean, dry area away from moisture and chemicals; keep coils and reels supported to prevent kinking and use proper end terminations (swaged sleeves, wire-rope clips, or fittings) rated for the cable. Breaking-strength figures are nominal minimum values for new, unspliced cable and are provided for reference only — always apply an appropriate design safety factor (commonly 5:1, or higher for overhead / life-safety use). Commercial-grade cable is intended for general-purpose use and is not certified for aircraft flight controls or for overhead personnel lifting.
