HYW ER308LSi High-Silicon Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire is a low-carbon (L), high-silicon (Si) austenitic stainless MIG wire (19% Cr / 9% Ni) for welding AISI 301, 302, 304 and 304L stainless steels. The elevated silicon content improves puddle wetting and fluidity for faster, flatter beads and reduced spatter, making it ideal for high-deposition production welding, while the low carbon level guards against intergranular corrosion. Supplied on large production spools.
Key Features
- › Elevated silicon (LSi) chemistry for superior wetting, fluid puddle and flatter beads
- › Low-carbon (L) base minimizes carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion
- › Reduced spatter and easy slag / oxide cleanup for bright, clean welds
- › Large 8 lb & 25 lb production spools for high-deposition, high-volume welding
Ideal Applications
- › High-volume production welding of 304 / 304L and 308 / 308L stainless
- › Food, beverage, dairy and brewing equipment
- › Tanks, railings, sinks and architectural stainless fabrication
- › Automated / robotic and semi-automatic GMAW where feedability matters

Available Sizes & Recommended Amperage
| Diameter | Recommended Amperage |
|---|---|
| .035″ (0.9 mm) | 50 – 180 A |
| .045″ (1.2 mm) | 75 – 350 A |
Recommended amperage ranges are general guidelines; optimal settings vary with base-metal thickness, joint design, shielding gas, and welding position. Store wire in a dry location to prevent oxidation and ensure smooth feeding.
