HYW ER316L Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire

Regular price $17.31 Sale

HYW ER316L Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire is a molybdenum-bearing, low-carbon (L) austenitic stainless MIG wire (18% Cr / 12% Ni / 2.5% Mo) for maximum resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The added molybdenum makes it the preferred filler for marine, chemical, pharmaceutical and food-grade environments, with low carbon for superior intergranular corrosion resistance.

Key Features

  • Low-carbon (L) chemistry minimizes carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion
  • High-silicon formulation for smooth wetting, a stable arc and reduced spatter
  • Molybdenum-bearing for superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance
  • Precision-wound layer spools for consistent, tangle-free feeding

Ideal Applications

  • Welding 316 / 316L molybdenum stainless base metals
  • Marine hardware, boat fittings and coastal structures
  • Chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical processing equipment
  • Food-grade tanks, piping and sanitary fabrication
  • Applications demanding superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance

Available Sizes & Recommended Amperage

Diameter Recommended Amperage
.030" (0.8 mm) 40 – 145 A
.035" (0.9 mm) 50 – 180 A
.045" (1.2 mm) 75 – 350 A

Recommended amperage ranges are general guidelines; optimal settings vary with base-metal thickness, joint design, shielding gas, and welding position. Store wire in a dry location to prevent oxidation and ensure smooth feeding.
